Fiona Goulding - Wildlife & Eco-Magical Realism Artist
Born in England and inspired by conservation work undertaken in Africa, I spent several years travelling through India, Nepal and Australia before the sheer beauty and variety of the New Zealand landscape inspired me to make this country my home.
Driven by a deep commitment to conservation and animal welfare, my work explores the interconnected vulnerability of animals and their environments. My practice has evolved from an immersive study of the physical world's unequivocal beauty into a purpose-driven narrative style. Moving beyond direct observation, my paintings introduce subtle eco-magical realism, inviting quiet reflection on our connection to those who have no voice. Every painting explores the living world, anchoring my creative voice across three distinct chapters of ecological and artistic growth.

I really can’t find the words to express how beautiful they are.....
They evoke, for me, such
wonderful feelings of freedom
and space and light.....
I will treasure them always."
