The Sumatran Tiger is critically endangered due to deforestation and extensive poaching for the illegal wildlife trade. Despite global conservation efforts - including stricter anti-poaching laws and stepped-up enforcement - a substantial black market for tiger parts and products continues to thrive across Sumatra and wider Asia.
This painting was specially created for donation to the London-based exhibition hosted by Explorers Against Extinction, a initiative dedicated to raising funds and awareness for threatened species. The artwork captures a young Sumatran tiger cub focusing intently on following its mother’s path. It poses a haunting question: how long will the cub be able to follow its mother before her path becomes nothing more than fading footprints, and the entire species is hunted to extinction?
